Streaking

I think my legs have finally bounced back from Albany. Lately, it's just been one good run followed by another. I have 42 miles in for the past 3 days, probably my highest ever midweek total for three days. And, they weren't just junk miles. After a doing most of today's 14.5 at a fairly easy pace, I decided to push late and see what was left. I dropped a 6:24 mile, followed by a 6:10. I'm over 80 miles for my rolling 7 day total and should easily clear eighty for the week officially. I've run 14 days in a row, my longest such streak in years (and one that I've never equaled while putting in this kind of mileage). And, it's not just that the numbers have been good. I've been having fun out there. I realized today that I haven't gone for a run on my own in over a week. I've had a bunch of great runs with Helen, with Sarah, with Antonio, and even got to catch up with an old friend Michael today. The sun came back out and, although I love the winter, even I have to admit that it's felt oh so good to be clipping along in shorts, feeling the air and sunshine on my (shockingly white) legs. There are no injuries to speak of (although I am monitoring a slight recurring pain in my right knee reminiscent of last year's, but I feel like I'm catching it early enough that I'll prevent anything bad by stepping up the stretching, rollering, etc.). My muscles have been surprisingly unsore despite the bump in mileage, and that whole lung issue seems to have just disappeared. So, yeah, things are really good. It always makes me a little nervous when things go this smoothly, but let's just cross our fingers and hope this streak keeps going.

D'oh. That didn't work either. It was simply Mr. Burns saying "excellent." I feel like Homer.

:-) That's almost funnier than if the original sound clip had worked.

Welcome, Alex. It probably won't be the smoothest journey, so it might make for some interesting reading. :-)

Robert, The best journeys are never smooth :-) And make for terrible reading, anyway.
