Queens, Part 1

I just got back from NYRR with my bib for tomorrow's Queens Half Marathon. I'm going to be sporting the number 303. This is significant for two reasons: First, it's the area code I grew up in (Denver, Colorado). Second, it means that I'm going to be starting in the first wave with all the speedy people. It'll be tough not to start out too fast, especially with all those amazing runners surrounding me. I'm aiming for 1 hour, 35 minutes tomorrow, so I need to keep a pace of exactly 7:15 miles. That shouldn't be a problem, but I could easily screw it up with one of my trademark pacing disasters at the start.
Well, I pinned the bib onto my shirt, attached the timing chip to my shoes, laid out my shorts and socks and some rain gear (just in case) so now all there is to do is relax, eat some carbs, and try to get some good sleep early tonight. Wish me luck!
